Under the Department of Agriculture’s Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (DA-4K) Program, durian and lanzones planting materials were successfully distributed to selected Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) in the municipalities of Lanuza and Lingig in Surigao del Sur, and San Luis in Agusan del Sur.
The program aims to support IPOs in enhancing their livelihoods through the cultivation of high-value crops in their ancestral lands. This initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the agricultural capacity of Indigenous communities and organizations.
The distribution was carried out in partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs), the DA-Regional Field Office, and other agencies to ensure proper implementation and sustained support for IP beneficiaries. This is one of the government’s key steps toward building a more productive and sustainable future for Indigenous communities.
