Communication Strategies: Expanding Reach through WordPress and Blogging Workshop

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃: The Department of Agriculture – Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program successfully conducted the Communication Strategies: Expanding Reach through WordPress and Blogging Workshop from May 26 to 30, 2025, at Alta Village Resort in Cordova, Cebu.

This activity is the second part of the 4K Program’s Communication Strategies series. It aims to equip program personnel with essential communication tools and skills to effectively share the program’s accomplishments and amplify its impact.

The workshop began with Mr. Christopher S. Tirambulo, Executive Producer of the Presidential Broadcast Service – Radyo Pilipinas. He discussed the three key stages of media production: pre-production, production, and post-production. Mr. Tirambulo highlighted the importance of planning before filming, executing a shoot properly, and editing the final material to make it suitable for publishing. He also explained proper camera angles, on-screen visuals, and how to ensure content looks professional and engaging.

Following this, Ms. Jaemie Quinto, also an Executive Producer at the Presidential Broadcast Service – Radyo Pilipinas, gave a talk on effective communication strategies, particularly in writing articles. She shared practical tips on spotting fake news and emphasized the importance of accuracy and truth in media. Her session also included guidance on how to write stories that are not only informative but also compelling and relevant to readers.

Mr. Joel Memita, Head of the Institutional Development Section, presented the 4K Program’s Social Media Guidelines. These guidelines aim to standardize the way content is created and shared across platforms. He also gave a brief introduction to WordPress—how to post articles and edit content effectively.

Mr. Emmanuel Miraflores led a session on Large Language Model (LLM) AIs. He introduced participants to different types of AI tools and explained how to write good prompts to get the best results. He reminded everyone that while AI can be a helpful tool, it’s still best that we write our own stories and use AI only as a support. A hands-on workshop followed, where participants were able to apply what they learned.

Finally, Mr. Jhay-vee Marasigan Pangan, Europe Correspondent for GMA Integrated News, discussed multimedia storytelling for strategic marketing. He explained the importance of showcasing products effectively to attract and connect with a wider audience. He also taught participants how to promote products in a creative and engaging way. This session ended with a workshop where participants created social media reels to highlight the products of Indigenous Peoples’ communities.

Special thanks to the 4K National Program Management Office (NPMO) and Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) 7 for hosting and organizing this meaningful activity. Thank you as well to all the participants for their active involvement and contributions!
