𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃: The Department of Agriculture, Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program, in collaboration with RPMO 2 Cagayan Valley, conducted a site/field visit and sub-project monitoring to assess the level of development of Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) from March 3-7, 2025.
This is the second round of monitoring activities conducted by 4K NPMO. The field visit aimed to evaluate and monitor how the program has improved the lives of Indigenous People Organizations (IPOs). A baseline survey and validation of level of development were carried out to assess the IPOs’ initial and current conditions.
The team was divided into two groups. The first group focused on monitoring the interventions provided to the IPOs and assessed their communal gardens and agricultural activities. They also looked into the challenges faced by the IPOs regarding agriculture and their crops.
The team visited the Mabegsak a Magsikaw nga Agta iti Dibuluan Association in San Mariano, Isabela, and the Bugkalot Ancestral Domain Agricultural Cooperation in Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. Both IPOs warmly welcomed the team and expressed gratitude for the visit from the central office. The team addressed all concerns raised by the IPOs.
The second group focused on validating the level of development of the IPOs and assessing what additional needs the organizations might have. They visited four IPOs: Agta Diet iti Palaui in Sta. Ana, Cagayan; Pasantaken iti Atta iti Gonzaga Association in Gonzaga, Cagayan; Gunglo nga Nalallapa na Atta na Pureg in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan; and Agta Dupaninan iti Sitio Magamut IPO in San Pablo, ICC.
Special thanks to Mr. Paul Vincent Balao, the DA 4K Region 2 Focal Person, and the 4K RPMO 2 for their efforts, help, and support during this visit.
