The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XI (DA-RFO XI), through the Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program together with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), endorsed Indigenous People’s Organizations (IPOs) to avail of livestock interventions under the National Livestock Program.
Two Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) qualified beneficiaries: the Aksasato Blaan Di Colosabac (ABDICO) from the Blaan Tribe in Matanao, Davao del Sur, and the Tibolo Farm Workers Association (TIFWA) from the Tibolo Tribe in Barangay Tibolo, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. They received the horses on July 7–8, 2025.
The Horse dispersal was attended and supported by key local officials. In Matanao, the staff, Municipal Agriculture Officer, and the Municipal Mayor were present. In Sta. Cruz, the Municipal Veterinarian also joined and gave technical assistance during the distribution.
This partnership between Regional Field Units (RFO) and Local Government Units (LGUs) reflects a whole of government approach to delivering meaningful and culturally sensitive interventions to IP communities.
