In a strong show of collaboration, the Department of Agriculture โ€“ 4K Program, together with the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), conducted technical training on vegetable, fruit trees, and abaca production for Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) in Surigao del Sur.

The Manobo of Rajah Cabungso-an Ancestral Domain Management Organization (MARCADMO) of CADT 210, Lingig, Surigao del Sur, and the Pakwan Manobo Indigenous Cultural Communities (PAMICC) of CADT 002, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur, actively participated in the two-day technical training conducted separately for each IPO this month.

Meanwhile, the San Miguel Manobo Indigenous Cultural Communities (SAMMICC) of CADT 116, San Miguel, took part in a separate session focusing specifically on harvest and post-harvest management of abaca production.

These trainings aimed to equip IP farmers with practical, crop-specific knowledge to strengthen food security, enhance income, and promote sustainable agriculture grounded in Indigenous practices.

The activity was made possible through the support of APCOโ€“Surigao del Sur, the Provincial Agriculture Office of Surigao del Sur, and the respective Municipal Agriculture Offices.
