On August 9th, the National Indigenous Peoples Day and the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples are celebrated in order to recognize the unique needs of Indigenous Peoples and to promote the full development of their distinct cultures and communities. This year’s theme focuses on celebrating “Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination”. This highlights the meaningful engagement of Indigenous Youth in exercising the right to self-determination and ensuring a better future for all.
The Department of Agriculture is proud to extend its support for Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples through the Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo (4K) Program. 4K is a Special Program that focuses on the development of agriculture-fisheries in Ancestral Domains and uplifting the lives of Indigenous Peoples.
